New World Order Edit

It’s been three years since disaster struck the Earth – everybody over the age of 20 vanished without a trace.  Have the children survived without any adults?  Is there complete anarchy and chaos?  Or have the young people of the world managed to defy all expectation and not only survive, but thrive?

Five years after the sudden disappearance of the world’s adult population, they just as suddenly reappear (having lived the five years without any children).  Although the immediate reaction to seeing their long-lost loved ones is positive, attempting to pick up where they left off doesn’t work out so well for either side, the adults or the children.  Can the two groups find a way to coexist in this strange new world, or will they find themselves at war?

Story notes Edit

  • Initial reunion goes extremely well for most, although not everybody is reunited (anybody who died during the last five years on either side is still dead upon reunification)
  • The newly-returned adults praise the Emancipated (the new term for the children) as resilient heroes who overcame great adversity, swear to make epic motion pictures and tell-all books about their exploits and bestow various honors upon them before returning to the status quo: sending the children back to real school or college, get them into the work force, and back to their so-called “normal lives”
  • The adults’ plans don’t go over well with the Emancipated
    • Why should the adults, missing for five years, get to decide their fate?
      • Having been on their own for so long, they didn’t want or need to take orders from the adults (advice, yes; orders, hell no!)
    • The new rules and regulations adapted by the Emancipated (including but not limited to the driver’s license and drinking ages, or lack thereof) are being disputed
    • The government of the Emancipated is being considered (by the adults only) if not immediately, then on its way, to being defunct

New World Order characters Edit

Senator Eric Gardner, G.E.D., IYS Edit

Eric Francis Gardner is a main character in New World Order, a fanfiction story written by Little_kingsfan2005. He is a wholly original character – a product of the author’s imagination, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  His physical appearance is based on Robbie Amell.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit

Eric was born on March 21 at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune to then-Captain Frank Gardner and his wife, Jeannie.  Growing up, he resided on multiple Marine bases around the world as his father transferred from post to post.  By the age of 17, Eric was a senior at Quantico High School.

When he was 11, his father was assigned to Camp Gonsalves in Okinawa, Japan; the Gardner family was stationed there for 18 months.  While there, he graduated from E.C. Killin Elementary School at Camp Foster.

He had the world at his fingertips his senior year of high school.  He was the big man on campus – Homecoming King, captain of the team, scored a 2100 on his SATs, maintained a 3.5 GPA and had received a recommendation to the US Naval Academy.  In addition, he also had a part-time job as a pizza deliveryman.  All in all, his life was going great…until the vanishing.

After the Vanishing Edit

The day of the vanishing, Eric was woken up by his sister, who told him that their parents were missing.  Worried, he headed out into the neighborhood only to see that many other children and teenagers had the same idea.  Upon realizing that all the adults in Quantico were gone, he quickly took control of the situation, sending teenagers to every house to make sure that 1) the adults were all gone and 2) there were no little kids, toddlers, or infants who were left alone.

A few days after the vanishing, panic and fear set in once the children realized it was unlikely that the adults would be coming back any time soon.  That was when the rioting started, as Eric learned when he and some of his buddies traveled to Washington, D.C.  While there, he underwent some emotional trauma when he discovered the body of a child that was left alone during the vanishing, as well as being forced to take the life of an attempted rapist.

Eric was the first patient of budding physician (and his ex-girlfriend) Paige Shaw.  A few weeks after the vanishing, he was wounded in a riot in D.C., shot in the right arm below the shoulder.  Paige was able to successfully remove the bullet, clean (and cauterize) the wound, and stitch it closed.  During the procedure, Eric took no shame in screaming like an infant due to the pain (in fact, as he later reflected, treating the wound hurt worse than getting shot).  It took him nearly six weeks to regain full control of his arm.

During the first year after the vanishing, Eric participated in the resolution to the Air Force’s declaration of martial law in Dover, Delaware, visited New York City which was slowly-but-surely recovering from its own post-vanishing rioting, sent one of his closest friends on a cross-country road trip to gather (in no particular order) food, supplies, and allies, and more, all the while keeping an eye on his younger brother and sister.

A year after the vanishing, Eric (along with many of his friends and acquaintances from high school) took the G.E.D. test salvaged at the Department of Education in Washington, D.C., since they never officially graduated from high school.  He then began a trek that took him across the United States, getting the people organized, sheltered, supplied, whatever was necessary.  After making his way to Los Angeles, he finally met his West Coast counterpart, Jasper Knowles, with whom he’d talked to a number of times since establishing contact with California.

By the second year, order had slowly-but-surely begun to resurge as the world had adapted to the lack of adults.  For the most part, communications had been restored around the globe, and both food (from the farms) and travel (via the oceans) had become much better as practice made perfect – there were even some rudimentary doctors now, including his close friend and confidant, Paige Shaw.

As the world began rebuilding itself, a quasi-government was in the process of being established by Eric, his friends, his acquaintances, and even his rivals.  However, although many of the group were born Americans, they ultimately decided they wanted to make the new government more omninational.  Using various countries’ governments (as well as a few fictional governments) as a template, a World Youth Council was created.

Political career Edit

Once the Council was established, Eric was one of the first to be offered the position of President; however, he declined on the grounds that he was barely a politician, let alone a Head of State.  Upon turning down the presidency, he was unanimously elected to the International Youth Senate, the Council’s legislative hand, and then selected as Speaker – first among equals – by his peers.  His Chief of Staff is Andrea Barton, formerly of Philadelphia, whom he met during his road trip.

As Speaker, Eric wields significant political power in the new government.

One of his first acts as a Senator – which earned him a bunch of political and street cred – was to volunteer a Saturday to personally mow the grass at Arlington National Cemetery.

While serving as Speaker, the IYS and Council established the International Defense Force, a multinational military agency; it also dropped the drinking age to 16 and the driving age to 13 (because who was going to stop them, anyway?).

A few months later, Eric made his first overseas visit as a government official to attend a state dinner and ball thrown by the European monarchy and hosted by the young Queen of Spain.

Since being selected as IYS Speaker, Eric has frequented the Library of Congress and read various political journals, memoirs, and fictional stories about the government, Congress and the Senate, and political science.

Political positions Edit

Growing up, Eric didn’t pay much attention to politics; his parents were in different political parties, but both were relatively close to the center and had a lot of common ground.  Like many of his generation, he has no real racial, religious, gender, or sexual orientation prejudices.

Upon the formation of the Council, Eric found himself aligning with the conservative party, believing that because the Council was starting from scratch, they needed to build a government that could last, not one that would spread itself too thin or burn itself out in a few years.

Something of an idealist, Eric does have a tendency to see things as they should be – or how he’d like them to be – rather than the way they actually are, which has led to some conflict within the Senate, the Council, and the world at large.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the adults returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  Like the rest of the world, Eric was overjoyed to have his parents back in his life, and was eager to introduce them to their granddaughter, Frankie.

Upon the adults’ return, word of Eric’s heroism over the past five years reached the ears of the people in power, there was talk of awarding him the Presidential Medal of Freedom for his actions.  There were also requests for news interviews, book deals, movie rights, and more.

However, once the initial relief had worn off, Eric and the rest of his world found themselves in conflict with the recently-returned adults.  Many of them wanted their old lives back, with the children finishing their traditional high school and/or college, going out and getting jobs, and just basically returning to the way things used to be.  However, the Emancipated (as they had popularly come to be called) – including his own sister, Emily, who quickly became a popular member of the protests against reunification – had no intention of giving up their hard-earned freedom, government, and lifestyle to go back to the way things were.

As Speaker of the IYS, Eric uses his significant influence in the negotiations between the Emancipated and the adults that would prevent an all-out war.

Personal life Edit

The oldest child of Frank and Jeannie Gardner, Eric has two younger siblings, Matt and Emily.  He had a good relationship with his parents and his siblings.  In the aftermath of the vanishing, he, Matt, and Emily grew even closer as they were forced to rely on each other more than ever due to the loss of the world’s adults.

Eric’s great-grandfather (Frank’s grandfather) fought in World War I, where he received the Medal of Honor for taking command of his platoon after losing his Lieutenant and Sergeant and holding his position until backup arrived.

He has a number of friendly acquaintances all over the world (due to his upbringing), which helped him concoct a plan to reestablish a new government.

When it comes to religion, Eric considers himself a secular Christian – he was baptized as a baby, but he and the rest of his family were never very religious.  Since the vanishing, Eric has found himself praying to God on more than one occasion.

Three years later, Eric lives in a two-bedroom loft at the Dupont Circle Apartment complex with his girlfriend, Ariel.  Later that year, the two had a child, Francesca Paige “Frankie” Gardner.

Romantic relationships Edit

Before the vanishing, Eric had his share of high school romances, many of which didn’t last more than a few months.

While in junior high school, he shared his first kiss with Paige Shaw at the age of 13.  The two dated for just over a month before realizing that there was no real romantic spark, simply brand-new hormones to explore.

In the immediate aftermath of the vanishing, he entered into a completely physical relationship with Rachel Bryant that was more about stress relief than any romantic feelings.  The two parted ways amicably, and remained friendly until her untimely death.

Three years later, he is in a committed relationship with Ariel Hynes.

Upon his first meeting with the European monarchy, the teenaged Queen-Regent Anne Windsor of England became deeply enamored with Eric, who let her down as gently as he could.  Her crush is also shared by Spain’s Queen Leonore.

Superpowers, weapons and equipment Edit

In the aftermath of the vanishing, Eric drove a Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicle that he appropriated from the Quantico Provost Marshal (since they weren’t using it).  Three years later, Eric drives a Cadillac Escalade.  He carries his father’s M9 in 9×19mm with hollow-point ammunition for self-defense.

Although he’s capable in a fistfight (as he quickly learned after the vanishing), Eric is not a trained martial artist.  He is a decent shot with his father’s handgun, and has had the unfortunate cause to use it.

Kill count Edit

Eric took his first life a week after all the adults disappeared in what would become known as the first post-vanishing riots in Washington, D.C. – although his first kill wasn’t a rioter, but an attempted rapist.  Three years later, his body count stands at 6, each one of which still occasionally haunt him.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit

Matt was born on August 29 at the Naval Hospital at Camp Lejeune to then-Captain Frank Gardner and his wife, Jeannie.  Growing up, he resided on multiple Marine bases around the world as his father transferred from post to post.  By the age of 14, Matt was a freshman at Quantico High School.

After the Vanishing Edit
Immediate aftermath Edit
Three years later Edit

Three years after the vanishing, Matt has become one of the first of the new generation of train conductors.  He learned his craft from textbooks and through trial and error.  In this capacity, Matt travels the railroads of the United States, hauling both passengers and cargo across the country.  His home base is Union Station in Washington, D.C.

Reunification Edit

Personal life Edit

The middle child of Frank and Jeannie Gardner, Matt has two siblings, his older brother Eric and younger sister Emily.  Although he had a good relationship with his parents and siblings, as he entered adolescence, Matt found himself in his brother’s shadow, leading to some resentment.  In the aftermath of the vanishing, he, Eric, and Emily grew even closer as they were forced to rely on each other more than ever due to the loss of the world’s adults.

Romantic relationships Edit

After the vanishing, Matt found himself intrigued by Samantha Riordan, a 15-year-old computer specialist.  The two danced around each other for almost a year before they finally had their dramatic first kiss; they’ve been together ever since.

Superpowers, weapons and equipment Edit

In the aftermath of the vanishing, the Gardner children broke into their father’s gun safe where Eric appropriated the M9 and gave Matt their dad’s Smith & Wesson Model 340PD in .357 Magnum for self-defense.  Fortunately, unlike his brother, Matt never had cause to use it.

Emily Gardner Edit

She is a wholly original character – a product of the author’s imagination, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  Her physical appearance is based on Ariel Winter.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit

Emily was born on January 17 at the Naval Health Clinic Quantico to then-Major Frank Gardner and his wife, Jeannie.  Growing up, she resided on multiple Marine bases around the world as her father transferred from post to post.  By the age of 10, Emily was a student at Crossroads Elementary School in Quantico.

After the Vanishing Edit

The day of the vanishing, Emily woke up to find her parents missing, and immediately woke up her brothers.  Upon realizing that all the adults in Quantico were gone, Eric quickly took control of the situation, sending Emily and the other teens and pre-teens to every house to make sure that 1) the adults were all gone and 2) there were no little kids, toddlers, or infants who were left alone.

A few months after the vanishing, Emily remained at Quantico while Eric and Matt went on a road trip to help with the organization and reconstruction of the world.

Three years later Edit

Three years after the vanishing, Emily is one of the employees/volunteers at the daycare center/orphanage.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the adults returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  Emily enjoyed a tear-filled reunion with her parents alongside her brothers, where she eagerly got them up to speed on the last five years.

After the initial excitement of having the adults back, Emily – somewhat surprisingly – had the strongest reaction to the reunification effort of the Gardner siblings: she wanted no part of it.  She had a job she liked at the daycare center as a preschool teacher/babysitter along with an internship with the World Youth Education Councilor, Lauren Benson, had a boyfriend whom she was more-or-less living with, and considered herself a grownup – there was absolutely no frickin’ way she was going to give up the life she’d built for herself to live under her parents’ roof and go to high school and be their so-called normal daughter.

Emily subsequently joined in the protests against reunification, and quickly became one of the most popular and influential members.

Personal life Edit

The youngest child and only daughter of Frank and Jeannie Gardner, Emily has two older brothers Eric and Matt.  She had a good relationship with her parents and her siblings (whom she had wrapped around her finger).  In the aftermath of the vanishing, she, Eric, and Matt grew even closer as they were forced to rely on each other more than ever due to the loss of the world’s adults.

After the vanishing, Emily found herself the primary caregiver of the Gardner family dog, Rex.

Emily is a close friend of Zoe Williams, the orphanage’s founder and Director of Youth Services for the World Youth Council.  She also has a good relationship with Paige Shaw, her brother’s ex-girlfriend and one of his closest friends, and Ariel Hynes, the mother of her niece.

Romantic relationships Edit

10 years old at the time of the vanishing, Emily was still young enough to not be interested in boys yet.  Three years later was a different story; she had reached the age where her hormones were developing (along with other parts of her anatomy), and it seemed to her brothers that she had a new crush every week.

By the time the adults returned five years after vanishing, Emily was in a relationship with Christian Brown.  Before Christian, she dated Andrew Wellesley, one of the youngest Senators of the IYS.

Superpowers, weapons and equipment Edit

Before leaving on his road trip, Eric gave Emily a Taurus Millennium PT111 for self-defense, on the condition that she join some of Quantico’s other gun users for gun safety and target practice.

Emily was also one of the first children to get their driver’s license after the World Youth Council lowered the age restriction to 13.  She drives a Saturn ION that was abandoned during the vanishing and later salvaged.

Biography Edit

At the time of the vanishing, Jason was a 19-year-old Lance Corporal assigned to drive around the Commanding General of MCB Quantico, Brig. Gen. Frank Gardner.  That day, he and the rest of the base went on high alert following the disappearance of everybody over the age of 20 and Jason found himself one of the ranking Marines left.

Along with the Gardner family, Jason was one of the primary keepers of the peace that day, ordering the other Marines and the base’s children to search every single house and home in town to make sure that 1) the adults were all gone and 2) there were no little kids, toddlers, or infants who were left alone.

Three years later Edit

Three years after the vanishing, Jason was one of the founding members of the International Defense Force.  For his actions over the past three years as a member of the Armed Forces, he was awarded a commission by the World Youth Council.  He transferred from Quantico down to Parris Island, where he supervised the training of the first new recruits of the IDF.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the adults returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  By this time, Jason held the rank of General in the IDF and served as the Deputy Chief of Staff, International Defense Force. He was one of the major voices of the Emancipated, serving as their military liaison to the negotiations with the adults.

Awards and decorations Edit

As a Marine, Lance Corporal Fellows was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal, Marine Corps Rifleman Badge, and Marine Corps Pistol Shot Badge.  Upon the return of the adults five years later, he, along with other members of the military who’d performed with distinction in their absence, was nominated by the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs and the Secretary of Defense for the Navy Distinguished Service Medal, the highest military award a Marine could receive for non-combat operations (an award that was usually reserved only for senior officers or enlisted personnel upon their retirement).  He also received the Presidential Unit Citation, Armed Forces Service Medal, and Humanitarian Service Medal.

In the newly-created International Defense Force, awards and citations were taken from the various nations’ military services.  As a senior member of the IDF, Gen. Fellows was decorated by both his peers and the civilian government.  His awards and decorations include the Meritorious Service Medal, IDF Commendation Medal, IDF Achievement Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation, Superior Unit Commendation, IDF Good Conduct Medal, Humanitarian Service Medal, and the IDF Training Instructor Ribbon, along with his Marine Corps awards.

Andrea Barton Edit

Andrea Nicole Barton is a major recurring character in New World Order, a fanfiction story written by Little_kingsfan2005. She is a wholly original character – a product of the author’s imagination, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  Her physical appearance is based on Dianna Agron.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit

Born and raised in Philadelphia, Andrea Barton grew up in picture-perfect middle class – she was a gymnast and Girl Scout as a girl, a cheerleader and ultimately Prom Queen in high school, and, at the age of 19, was in her second year at Community College of Philadelphia where she was knocking out her general ed classes on the cheap before moving on to a higher school of education.

However, like everybody else in the entire world, Andrea’s life changed because of the vanishing.

After the Vanishing Edit

The day of the vanishing, Andrea didn’t even notice anything was wrong at first.  The first inkling that something was wrong was when her teacher (and some of her classmates) failed to show up for class.  By lunchtime, however, word had begun to spread throughout campus that people over the age of twenty – parents, teachers, boyfriends and girlfriends – were gone.  When the rumors about the vanishing reached her, she tried and failed to get ahold of her parents, her brother and sister-in-law, even her 21-year-old cousin in Wilmington.

Andrea spent the next few months trying to come to terms with this new world without adults.  She moved around the state before ending up in Pittsburgh, where she first met Eric Gardner, a Marine brat from Quantico, VA who was trying to help reorganize the world.  One day, she was attacked by a few horny wannabe gangbangers, and Eric intervened.  The three-on-one fight was brutal (during which Eric lost his sidearm), and when one of the gangbangers picked up Eric’s weapon, Andrea stabbed him in the back with a knife she carried with her since Philly.  The death of their buddy caused the other two gangbangers to run off.  Stunned by her own actions, Eric helped her emotionally while she bandaged and iced his wounds.

Once they were both better, Andrea and Eric went their separate ways, but kept in touch.

Three years later Edit

Three years after the vanishing, Andrea was working for the International Youth Senate as the Chief of Staff to the Senate’s Speaker and her friend, Eric Gardner.  Andrea still experiences occasional post-traumatic stress from killing that gangbanger, but it usually only flares up on bad days.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the adults returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  Like the rest of the world, Andrea experienced a happy reunion with her long-lost family, including her brand-new niece.

As Eric’s Chief of Staff, Andrea found herself involved in the reunification debates.  Personally, she was all for reunification, since it would not affect her the way it would the younger members of the Emancipated.

Personal life Edit

Romantic relationships Edit

Before the vanishing, Andrea had had a couple of boyfriends.  She broke up with her high school sweetheart almost a year before, and was just starting to dip her toes back into the dating pool.

As a teenager, Andrea frequently found herself attracted to older men; after the vanishing, Andrea, at age 19, was one of the oldest people left.

She and Eric share a highly flirtatious friendship forged in the fire and blood during the initial months of the vanishing; however, neither will ever act on their attraction due to Eric having a girlfriend (with whom he has a daughter).

She is a wholly original character – a product of the author’s imagination, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  Her physical appearance is based on Britt Robertson.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit

All her life, Lauren Benson knew she wanted to be a teacher.  The road to getting there, however, turned out to be harder than expected.  At the age of 18, Lauren found herself on her own, living in a crappy one-bedroom studio apartment and with no way to pay the rent, let alone tuition for college.  The only thing she had going for her was her brains – and her body.

She found work at a strip club, which put some food in her belly and a little bit of money into her college fund.  After a couple months of dancing, Lauren was approached by an escort service, which offered to set her up with clients who would pay hundreds of dollars for her time.  She accepted the job, and had enough money to enroll in classes just in time for the spring semester.

After the Vanishing Edit

After the vanishing, Lauren quickly found herself taking care of the young children left behind.  She eventually crossed paths with Eric Gardner, who told her about the daycare center/orphanage being run in Washington, D.C.  She made her way there, and became a prominent member of the center.

Three years later Edit

Three years after the vanishing, Lauren was appointed to the World Youth Council to serve as its Councilor of Education, one of the most prolific and coveted posts.  In this position, Lauren is responsible for creating and ensuring that children around the world get a level of education, whether from a traditional school, apprenticeships, or even self-learning.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the adults returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  Sadly, while Lauren was happy to have the adults back in the abstract, there was nobody who returned in her life worth reuniting with.

Due to her past as a stripper and escort, Lauren became a target for the newly-returned adults, particularly in regards to her position as Education Councilor.  Many parents and other concerned adults, including the United States Assistant Secretary of Education for Elementary and Secondary Education, didn’t want their children’s educational needs being decided by a whore, and actively campaigned to have her dismissed from her post, regardless of whether or not the entire World Youth Council would be disbanded (one of the many discussions being held).  The Council, already well aware of what Lauren did to pay for college before the vanishing, had long since stopped caring, and brought up her record since the vanishing – not one single public act of moral debauchery.

Sheriff Jasper Knowles, LASD Edit

Los Angeles County Sheriff Jasper Knowles is a recurring character in New World Order, a fanfiction story written by Little_kingsfan2005. He is a wholly original character – a product of the author’s imagination, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  His physical appearance is based on.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit

The son of Air Force Col. Knowles and his wife, Jasper grew up primarily in Omaha, Nebraska and Colorado Springs, Colorado while his dad was stationed at Offutt and Schriever Air Force Bases, respectively.  When he was 15, his father was reassigned to command the 61st Air Base Group at Los Angeles AFB, and remained in command until the vanishing.

In high school, Jasper played football and maintained a 3.0 GPA with little effort.

As a teenager, Jasper and his father had some difficulty getting along; Jasper considered his father an uptight hardass, while Col. Knowles saw his son as a coaster, somebody with little ambition and who got by on only his good looks and charm.

After the Vanishing Edit

Unknown to him at the time, Jasper’s reactions the day of the vanishing were almost identical to those of Eric Gardner in Quantico, Virginia: upon realizing that all the adults were gone, Jasper quickly took control of the situation, sending teenagers to every house to make sure that 1) the adults were all gone and 2) there were no little kids, toddlers, or infants who were left alone.

After making sure that the immediate neighborhood was secure, Jasper headed to the local LA County Sheriff’s station, where he confirmed that all the adults were gone.

Like most places around the world, panic and fear set in once the children realized it was unlikely that the adults would be coming back any time soon, and rioting followed.  However, with the help of various people from all walks of life, including regular high school kids, gangbangers, and celebrities, Jasper organized a de facto police force that was able to begin to quell the fighting.

As law and order were slowly-but-surely being restored, Jasper was unanimously appointed Sheriff by his fellow wannabe LEOs, and he set up shop at the Hall of Justice in Los Angeles, having previously resided in El Segundo, where LA AFB is located.

Almost a year after the vanishing, Jasper met his East Coast counterpart, Eric Gardner, who was doing his part to help everyone in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area cope with the loss of the world’s adults.

By the second year, order had slowly-but-surely begun to resurge as the world had adapted to the lack of adults.  For the most part, communications had been restored around the globe, and both food (from the farms) and travel (via the oceans) had become much better as practice made perfect – there were even some rudimentary doctors now.

As the world began rebuilding itself, a quasi-government was in the process of being established.  However, although many of the group were born Americans, they ultimately decided they wanted to make the new government more omninational.  Using various countries’ governments (as well as a few fictional governments) as a template, a World Youth Council was created.  Jasper, who at the time was considered the world’s leading law enforcement expert due to his experience (and everybody else’s lack thereof), was nominated for a political position with the new government, but he opted to remain the Sheriff of Los Angeles.

As the first police force established and maintained since the vanishing, Sheriff Knowles and his department have become a model for the rest of the world to emulate.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the adults returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  Like the rest of the world, Jasper was overjoyed to have his parents back in his life, and they were proud of the man he’d become.  He was gifted with the LASD Distinguished Service Award – an award usually reserved for senior officers at their retirement ceremonies – by the adult Sheriff of Los Angeles, and offered any post within the Sheriff’s Department that he wanted, except one: his own.  Like most of the Emancipated, Jasper wasn’t thrilled about losing the job he’d worked so hard at over the past few years, and, backed by his peers, called for a special election for the office of Sheriff of Los Angeles, to let the people of Los Angeles decide which of them should serve as Sheriff.

Personal life Edit

Romantic relationships Edit

Before the vanishing, Jasper was something of a ladies’ man, being good looking and popular. However, his reputation was somewhat exaggerated, as at the time of the vanishing, Jasper was still a virgin – although he had been to third base with his most recent ex-girlfriend.

Since the vanishing, Jasper has found himself a hero and minor celebrity in Los Angeles and has had his share of romantic interests. He enjoys playing the field, as it were, but longs to one day (hopefully later than sooner) settle down with the right girl.

Superpowers, weapons and equipment Edit

As the son of an Air Force Colonel, Jasper was taught how to use a gun as a pre-teen. After the vanishing, he took his father’s M9 in 9×19mm and carries it in his duties as the Sheriff of Los Angeles. He drives a Ford Police Interceptor Utility Vehicle as both his on- and off-duty vehicle.

Queen-Regent Anne Windsor of the United Kingdom Edit

Anne Windsor, GCVO is a minor yet significant character in New World Order, a fanfiction story written by Little_kingsfan2005.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit
After the Vanishing Edit

The day of the vanishing, 13-year-old Anne Windsor, granddaughter of the Queen of England, found herself the oldest member of the Royal Family left.  She, her cousins, and other children of the British government quickly got together and made preparations.  In keeping with the royal traditions of the United Kingdom, her cousin’s son, almost three-year-old Prince George, was crowned King George VII of the United Kingdom and the other commonwealth realms, and Anne was named Queen-Regent due to the King’s age.

Unlike her predecessors, Queen-Regent Anne was forced by circumstance to be a more active monarch, both politically and personally, in the day-to-day operations of the United Kingdom.

Three years later Edit

Three years after the vanishing, now-16-year-old Queen-Regent Anne had joined her country with the rest of the world as part of the World Youth Council, a quasi-omninational government created to fill the void left by the adults.  She has a seat on the Council, filled by her personal representative.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the adults returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  Queen-Regent Anne, now 18, voluntarily stepped down as acting Monarch of the United Kingdom, and was praised by her family, her country, and the world for the job she’d done in their absence.  For her actions, she was awarded the Dame Grand Cross of the Royal Victorian Order.

Former President Barack Obama Edit

Former President of the United States of America Barack Hussein Obama II is minor yet significant character in New World Order – Reunification, a fanfiction story written by Little_kingsfan2005. He is a fictional caricature based on the real-life President Barack Obama.

Biography Edit

Before the Vanishing Edit

America’s first black President, Honolulu-born Barack Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he served as president of the Harvard Law Review.  He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree.  He worked as a civil rights attorney and taught constitutional law at University of Chicago Law School between 1992 and 2004. He served three terms representing the 13th District in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004, running unsuccessfully for the United States House of Representatives in 2000, before being elected to represent Illinois in the United States Senate in 2004.  He was elected President of the United States in 2008, and took office on January 20, 2009. Nine months after his inauguration, President Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate.

After the Vanishing Edit

As the President of the United States at the time of the vanishing, he faced a crisis like no other President before him – the disappearance of the world’s children.  He threw everything the United States government had at its massive disposal to try to find the children and/or the cause for their vanishing, from law enforcement to the military to the National Science Foundation.  He hired the world’s greatest academics, talked to so-called sci-fi/fantasy experts, prayed at every church, synagogue, mosque, and other religious institution he could, and even consulted the most reputable psychics, anything or anyone who could possibly help.  He convened the National Committee on the Disappearance of the Juvenile Population (colloquially the Vanishing Commission), chaired by Senior Judge Russell Simpson of the US District Court of Wyoming (one of the few federal jurists with no children of his own).

Unfortunately, over a year later with still no answers to explain the children’s disappearance, the President, along with some of his senior staff, tendered their resignations.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the children returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  By this time, the President had returned to Illinois and was in the process of writing his memoirs.  Upon the reunification, he was reunited with his daughters, who had both grown up to be extraordinary young women.

She is a wholly original character – a product of the author’s imagination, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  Her physical appearance is based on.

Biography Edit

General Erin Sutherland is the Vice Chairwoman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, the second highest-ranking military officer in the United States Armed Forces and ranking officer in the United States Army.  In this position, she works closely with Coast Guard Admiral Eric Murphy, the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs, and Command Chief Master Sergeant Antonio Zepeda, USAF, the Senior Enlisted Advisor to the Chairman.

Sexual violence against women (and men) in the military Edit

General Sutherland is one of the strongest advocates for victims of sexual violence in uniform, due to her own experiences.  She has spoken publically and before Congress on various issues faced by female soldiers, sailors, airmen, Marines, and Coast Guardsmen, and has stood by many victims ranging from her fellow female officers to fresh-out-of-basic training enlisted personnel.  Her outspokenness on these issues have brought her into conflict with the military’s brass (especially before she achieved her current rank), who were displeased with her not sweeping or downplaying such a hot topic under the rug, but have earned her many more friends and allies both politically and morally.

Part of General Sutherland’s motivations for her advocacy is that she herself was a victim of sexual abuse.  As a junior officer, she was coerced into providing sexual favors for her male superiors.  Although at the time she considered such acts an unfortunate but necessary reality of being a woman in uniform, as she climbed the ranks and it became more and more unacceptable to the world-at-large, she began to tell her story and teach her fellow soldiers that such behavior would not be tolerated going forward, nor should it ever have been in the first place.

Rear Admiral Joe Sinclair, US Navy SEALs Edit

Rear Admiral, lower half Joseph William “Joe” Sinclair is a recurring character in New World Order – Reunification, a fanfiction story written by Little_kingsfan2005. He is a wholly original character – a product of the author’s imagination, and any resemblance to actual persons, living or dead, is entirely coincidental.  His physical appearance is based on Vin Diesel.

Biography Edit

Rear Admiral Joe Sinclair is a senior officer in the United States Navy and current commander of the United States Naval Special Warfare Command.

Admiral Sinclair graduated from the United States Naval Academy at the age of 22, and qualified as a Naval Special Warfare (SEAL) officer three years later (an injury during BUD/S kept him back for a year).  He has served in the field and on the staff of various Special Operations teams, both Navy and joint duty assignments.  Before earning his star, he served as the Commanding Officer of Naval Base Little Creek, home to Naval Special Warfare Group Two.

As Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, Admiral Sinclair is responsible for overseeing all Special Operations regarding the United States Navy.  He is assisted by Force Master Chief Cliff Johnson, his senior enlisted advisor.

Reunification Edit

After five years, the children returned just as suddenly as they had disappeared.  Admiral Sinclair, as Commander, Naval Special Warfare Command, was tasked by his superiors to develop plans and strategies to “force” the Emancipated to fall into place should it become necessary.  The admiral strongly disliked the idea of taking up arms against the children they had just so recently reunited with, but disliked the idea of a civil war against those same children even more, and ordered his staff to come up with any and every possible contingency they could think of, from peaceful negotiation to assassination of the World Youth Council’s most prominent members.
